The Pyrolysis modul PM option enables the pyrolysis of solid samples to be combined with thermal desorption in a TDS 3. The relevant pyro module is a complete pyrolysis unit. The PM option is especially suitable for occasional use, in material analytics, for example. The system is controlled using the MAESTRO software.

Functional principle of the PM option

The sample is located in a special pyro tube. The pyro tube is inserted into the pyro module and the pyro module is manually inserted into the TDS 3, where the sample will be pyrolyzed at temperatures of up to 1000 °C. Pyrolysis can be combined with thermal desorption. Once pyrolysis is complete, the pyrolysate can be cryofocused in the Cooled Injection System CIS or immediately transferred to the GC column for analysis.

The PM option provides a complete pyrolysis unit for gas chromatography. Unknown macro molecules can be analyzed using GC/MS. The PM option can be used immediately. The TDS 3 does not need to be modified first. Thanks to the MAESTRO software, controlling the system as a whole is simple and intuitive.
