Functional principle of the DHS Large option

The solid is tempered in an sealed, airtight sample vessel. At a pre-determined time, the MPS positions a sorbent tube above the sample vessel. The sample vessel and the tube are connected together in accordance with the wash-bottle principle. A permanent gas stream continually purges the gaseous analytes from the headspace above the sample and conveys them upwards into the sorbent tube. The assignment of samples to sorbent tubes is freely selectable. Depending on the settings, all or only some of the analytes from a sample will be collected in a sorbent tube. The enrichment of the analytes from multiple samples into a single sorbent tube is also possible.

Benefits

Analytes from the headspace above a solid sample are continually enriched on an adsorbent. A wide variety of adsorbents can be used for enrichment. The full temperature control allows the analytes to be specifically separated from the sample matrix. The compact design prevents the loss or carryover of analytes and reduces the amount of maintenance required. The DHS or DHS 3.5+ options can also be operated with the expansion installed. The DHS Large option can be retrofitted at any time. Thanks to the MAESTRO software, controlling the system as a whole is simple and intuitive.
