"Innovation starts in the mind - with a bold idea and the courage to take risks. What else is missing for success? Not luck alone, above all entrepreneurial spirit and determination." Eberhard Gerstel (1927-2004)

Founded by Eberhard Gerstel Senior, our company is still a family business. Eberhard Gerstel started his independence with courage and a flair for practical ideas. His entrepreneurial spirit and determination laid the foundation for GERSTEL's success.

The second generation, with Holger Gerstel, successfully manages a group with over 220 employees. And the third generation is already active in the company.

We continue in the tradition of our founder: Innovations are the essence of GERSTEL. Together with our highly qualified and committed employees, we will continue to provide innovations in our customers' laboratories with passion and courage.

Apprenticeships

The future belongs to the young. That's why we at Gerstel take our educational mission very seriously and regularly train our young people. We offer you many opportunities to start your career at Gerstel.

Apprenticeship industrial clerk

You love administration with all its facets?

Industrial clerks work in commercial/business administration areas such as materials management, sales and marketing, human resources, and finance and accounting.

During your training, you will get to know many different activities: for example, purchasing office materials, checking incoming invoices or sorting incoming mail.

Training as an industrial mechanic

Do you like to manufacture components yourself or build complex structures with kits?

Then you might like an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic. Industrial mechanics manufacture components and assemblies for machines and production plants, set them up or convert them. They monitor and optimize production processes and take on repair and maintenance tasks.

We have entered into a training partnership with Siemens AG. As a result, our trainees spend their first year of training in the Siemens training workshops together with many other trainees at the Mülheim an der Ruhr site, not far from our company premises.

Training as a warehouse logistics specialist

Logistics is much more than just a tidy cupboard with small parts. Logistics processes are complex and require people who enjoy monitoring and coordinating these processes.

During your training as a warehouse logistics technician, you will take on tasks such as checking and storing incoming goods, picking goods and packing and coordinating outgoing goods. Optimizing logistical processes together as a team is also part of your training. There are many legal and internal guidelines that you will learn about and that must be monitored and adhered to.

Internship

Of course, we also offer you the opportunity to get a taste of the Gerstel air while you are still at school. Apply for an internship with us or complete a day of taster work with us. If you let us know your interests, we will try to find you an internship in a suitable department.

Values

As a family-owned business in its second generation, we make independent and economically sensible decisions.

Social responsibility

We are rooted in the region and assume social responsibility in the communities in which we operate and towards our employees. We promote and support institutions in our communities at home and abroad to show our attachment to the respective region and to fulfill our social responsibility.

Employee orientation

We see ourselves as a big family, of which our employees at home and abroad are also a part. That is why we respect and nurture the diverse cultures in our operations. We are committed to the needs of our employees and maintain an open and cooperative approach. We have short coordination paths and flat hierarchies.

Sustainability

Ownership is an obligation. Its use should serve the common good. For family businesses in particular, this philosophy is both an obligation and an incentive. After all, it is our responsibility to leave our children and grandchildren an intact and healthy environment.

That is why we take responsibility for our environment and for the people in our operations and the communities in which we operate. Reducing our emissions is our declared goal, which we demonstrate by introducing an environmental management system.

Trust, appreciation and respect

Mutual trust is the key for us. Whether as an employer, as a customer, as a partner or as a supplier: we stand for trusting, appreciative and respectful dealings with our employees, customers, partners and suppliers.
