GERSTEL is proud to announce the successful implementation of an Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001:2015 standards. GERSTEL has a proven sustainability track record including award-winning energy efficient Headquarters. 

ISO 14001 Certification and Environmental Management System 

GERSTEL's Environmental Management System is a vital aspect of the commitment to operational environmental protection. This system, certified under ISO 14001, ensures compliance with legal regulations, and focuses on minimizing the negative environmental impact of the company's products and processes in a structured and measurable manner. 

The internal Go Green team consists of nine dedicated GERSTEL employees from departments across the entire operation. The team played a crucial role in identifying operational environmental aspects. The team's diverse expertise enabled a comprehensive assessment of environmental impact across the organization, from the smallest things like managing greens on the company premises to facilities, logistics, materials and chemicals usage, ultimately achieving ISO 14001 certification.  

Environmental Goals  

GERSTEL has set the following ambitious environmental goals to further enhance its sustainability efforts: 

  1. Reduce paper consumption by 10% yearly: Aiming for improved sustainability by reducing overall paper consumption. 

  2. Reduce waste of electrical and electronic equipment by 5% yearly: Striving to minimize the environmental impact associated with electronic waste. 

  3. Reduce electricity consumption by 5% annually: Targeting a reduction in overall electricity consumption. 

  4. Implement at least 6 action points to reduce environmental impact yearly: Focused on both minimizing negative impacts and creating positive environmental contributions. 

  5. Establish CSR reporting for interested parties: Committed to providing transparent Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) reporting for clear information on CO2 reduction. 

Corporate Social Responsibility, Employee Initiatives, and New Work Practices 

GERSTEL's commitment extends beyond environmental sustainability, encompassing our social responsibility, employee well-being, and innovative work practices. The company actively supports various apprenticeship programs, dual studies, and continuous education initiatives. Furthermore, GERSTEL promotes a healthy work-life balance through flexible work arrangements and invests in employee well-being with team events, health initiatives, and training opportunities. 

Ecological Initiatives and Building Sustainability since 2007/2008 

The company's headquarters, a beacon of sustainability since its construction in 2007/2008, incorporates innovative technologies such as geothermal heating, energy-efficient lighting. Future plans include a rooftop photovoltaic system.
