Ralf Bremer, long-time Managing Director and COO of GERSTEL GmbH & Co. KG, has left for a well-deserved retirement at the end of 2022 after more than four decades with the company. Ralf Bremer worked for GERSTEL in managerial positions for 35 years. During the past 25 years, the native of Mülheim an Der Ruhr was Managing Director and COO, responsible for developing the company from a niche supplier to a world-leading technology and solutions provider. GERSTEL continues to set benchmarks in thermal desorption GC and in automated sample preparation and sample introduction for gas chromatography (GC) and liquid chromatography (LC) in combination with mass spectrometry (GC-MS and LC-MS). With the departure of Ralf Bremer, Peter Wiersdörfer was appointed Managing Director. As former director and division head of a well-known and highly respected medium-sized bank, Peter Wiersdörfer joined the GERSTEL management team in 2019 as Group Chief Financial Officer with particular focus on business finances and the establishment and development of new internal structures and processes. In the new position as Managing Director alongside company owner Holger Gerstel, his role is to consolidate and further expand GERSTEL's leading market position and to ensure the successful transfer of the company to the third generation of the Gerstel family.
