The MultiPurposeSampler MPS Robotic is a multi-functional autosampler with a broad range of applications. It can be used as a sample preparation robot and autosampler for GC (GC/MS) and LC (LC/MS). It can also be used on a stand-alone basis as a workstation for sample preparation. The MPS Robotic is modular in construction and can be flexibly adapted to fulfill all requirements. The sample can be introduced using the liquid, headspace, large-volume or SPME technique. A large number of modules and technologies are available for sample preparation. Gripping and injecting can be performed using the same tool. The MPS Robotic performs complex tasks reliably – all steps and movements are performed with precision and in a controlled and reproducible manner. The system is controlled using the MAESTRO-software.
Functional principle of the MPS Robotic
The MPS Robotic consists of a rail and a head, by means of which the injection unit can be moved in all 3 spatial dimensions. The rail runs in parallel over the GC or to the work surface. Trays and additional sample preparation modules are mounted on the rail. The head moves along the rail. Depending on the tasks to be performed, the injection unit can be fitted with a variety of syringe tools and syringes. In that regard, a syringe tool may not only consist of a syringe, but may also include a gripper. Additional modules can be retrofitted at any time.
Using the MPS Robotic, various injection techniques can be performed with just a single autosampler. A large number of manual sample preparation steps can also be automated to save time. All of the work steps performed using the MPS Robotic are very precise and easily reproducible. The syringe exchange prevents the carryover and discrimination of analytes. Thanks to the MAESTRO-software, controlling the system as a whole is simple and intuitive.

The MPS Robotic can be expanded by the addition of specific modules for a variety of sample introduction and sample preparation techniques.
