Sample Prep Solution system used for the automated determination of opioids, cocaine and their metabolites in blood serum. The system consists of a GERSTEL MultiPurpose Sampler (MPS) Dual Head version with SPE option and Evaporation Station (mVAP) used for sample preparation and introduction to the GC/MS system, which can be delivered as part of a complete package solution.

Opioids, cocaine and metabolites

The Opioid Sample Prep Solution enables the determination of cocaine, opioids and their metabolites in blood serum. This Sample Prep Solution was developed in cooperation with Prof. Thomas Daldrup and Dr. Oliver Temme from the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf, Germany. A key element in this solution, which can be delivered complete with GC/MS, is the MultiPurpose Sampler (MPS). Following manual protein precipitation and addition of the internal standard, the complete sample preparation is performed automatically (dilution, solid phase extraction, evaporation and derivatization) including introduction to the GC/MS and determination of the analytes.
